What it actually is

Cupping places purpose-made cups on selected areas of the body to create gentle suction. Rather than pressing down into tissue, the cups lift the skin and superficial tissue beneath them.

Cupping can be combined with remedial massage and movement-based techniques when it supports the goal of your session.

It is designed to relieve muscular tension and support circulation and recovery. The intensity and placement are tailored to you.

How it feels

  • A firm pulling or lifting sensation beneath each cup
  • Pressure that stays controlled and manageable
  • Warmth around the treated area
  • Temporary circular marks may remain after treatment

Inside the session

  1. 01

    Assess

We identify the areas of tension and how they are affecting your movement.

  2. 02

    Plan

Will explains where cupping may help and checks that the technique is suitable for you.

  3. 03

    Apply

Cups are placed on selected areas and adjusted to a comfortable level of suction.

  4. 04

    Move and retest

The cups are removed, the area is reassessed and other treatment is added when useful.
